50 ways to win at blogging

Black and white synthesizer keysAre you old enough to remember that wonderful Paul Simon song, “50 Ways To Leave Your Lover?” Here’s my version of the lyrics for you to sing along with … and help yourself write better blog posts into the bargain.

Writing for blogs is not a big problem for me
It’s really easy if you take it logically
I’d like to help you, write better and for free
There must be fifty ways to win at blogging

You know it’s really not my habit to intrude
Furthermore, the last thing I would do is to be rude
But I’ll repeat myself, ‘cos I’m in a good mood
There must be fifty ways to win at blogging
Fifty ways to win at blogging

Blog what folks want, Grant
Tell ‘em the truth, Ruth
Write what you feel, Neil
Just write some good words.
Then put out a Tweet, Pete
Pin up a pic, Dick
Get on LinkedIn, Lynn
And promote those words.

Blog what folks want, Grant
Tell ‘em the truth, Ruth
Write what you feel, Neil
Just write some good words.
Then put out a Tweet, Pete
Pin up a pic, Dick
Get on LinkedIn, Lynn
And promote those words.

Writing good blogs should really not cause you much pain
If you do it right folks’ll buy your stuff again
Just appreciate that, so there’s no need to explain
About the fifty ways

Just work out what your readers probably think is right
Then use those notions to inspire what you write
It doesn’t take so long, until you really see the light
There must be fifty ways to win at blogging
Fifty ways to win at blogging

Blog what folks want, Grant
Tell ‘em the truth, Ruth
Write what you feel, Neil
Just write some good words.
Then put out a Tweet, Pete
Pin up a pic, Dick
Get on LinkedIn, Lynn
And promote those words.

Blog what folks want, Grant
Tell ‘em the truth, Ruth
Write what you feel, Neil
Just write some good words.
Then put out a Tweet, Pete
Pin up a pic, Dick
Get on LinkedIn, Lynn
And promote those words.

Now, watch and listen to the original version….

Sheer brilliance.

    • Welcome Kimsea – it’s lovely to have a visitor from Cambodia! This post is a joke, really, with “blogging” words set to a popular American piece of music.

You might find some very helpful information if you look through the categories to the right on the sidebar >>>>> especially “Business English if you’re not a native speaker” and “Blogging.”
