These Boots Are Made For Bloggin’ … by popular demand

medium_88993263 (1)After last week’s laughs with my re-write of the lyrics to Paul Simon’s wonderful track, “50 Ways To Leave Your Lover” re-interpreted into “50 Ways To Win At Blogging,” I’m thrilled to say that I got a whole load of shares and support from folks saying “hey – do one of these a week!”

So I’m going to try for a while, at least.

These Boots Are Made For Bloggin’

Now, the original track here is even older than last week’s Paul Simon number: this dates back to 1966, would you believe, when I was just a boring small brat and many of you guys were probably not even a twinkle in your parents’ eyes yet.

The original version was written by the late Lee Hazelwood, then recorded and made famous by the late, great Frank Sinatra’s daughter, Nancy.

And despite it being nearly half a century old it’s still a “catchy tune.” According to Wikipedia, “…many cover versions of the song have been released in a range of styles: metal, pop, rock, punk rock, country, dance, and industrial. Jessica SimpsonGeri HalliwellJewel, and KMFDM also released covers of the song.”

If you’ve never heard it, there’s a video of it below. Click on that, then sing along to MY words … here!

You keep sayin’ you can’t handle bloggin’
You think you can’t write and that’s a pest
But all you need to do is just stop messin’
And just think what your readers want the best

These boots are made for bloggin,’ and that’s just what they’ll do
One of these days these boots will make your bloggin’ work real well for you

You keep tryin’ when you oughta be writin’
And you keep losin’ ‘cos you always forget
Just how much that bloggin’ is about sharin’
All that’s right and useful on the net

These boots are made for bloggin,’ and that’s just what they’ll do
One of these days these boots will make your bloggin’ work real well for you

You keep sayin’ what you shouldn’t be sayin’
And you keep thinkin’ that your words don’t work
Ha! I just found you a brand new inspiration
It’s how to blog real well – not like a jerk

These boots are made for bloggin,’ and that’s just what they’ll do
One of these days these boots will make your bloggin’ work real well for you

Are you ready boots? Start bloggin’!

Here’s the original as performed by Nancy Sinatra and some friends … nice performance, but why does it look like their choreographer made them dance by shooting at their ankles with an air rifle? LOL…
